An Inventory of Elsewheres

induction gallery is pleased to highlight an online presentation of los angeles-based artist ari salka, highlighting a focused body of paintings from his ongoing series, An Inventory of Elsewheres.

In these small works and paintings, Salka approaches mark making as a form of arriving; a resistance to closure by design. Rather than describing, each painting emerges through sustained attention, intuition, and accumulated gesture. The result is a feeling, a glimpse of a memory, and a journey existing solely in the painting itself.

Each work is titled Entry No. followed by its number, suggesting not a sequence of conclusions, but an expanding archive of interior states, remembered places, and imagined terrains. There is no beginning and no end— a refusal of direct narrative in place of ongoing record and catalogue keeping reaching forward.

Works in this series are conceived as a point of entry; an invitation to be lived with, experienced, and part of the archive’s care. Priced by the artist to remain accessible and within reach, these works allow for circulation beyond traditional collecting models; to be acquired, gifted, and shared into a broader audience. This is not incidental to the work’s meaning but part of it; an outward extension beyond the gallery wall and beyond any single collection.
