severin hallauer, letters from places he Didn‘t want to be, 2026
hallauer’s work examines structures of protection, inheritance, and belonging, constructing situations that oscillate between intimacy and discomfort. through materially, restrained gestures, and symbolic forms, hallauer questions boundaries of conformity and social expectation while creating spaces for reflection on vulnerability, violence, and human connection. across sculpture, installation, video, and performance, hallauer’s practice is characterized by radical openness and emotional intensity, transforming autobiographical experience into formally precise environments. the artist’s practice is marked by a distinctive balance between conceptual clarity and emotional depth, producing images and installations that are at once personal and universally resonant.
the artist will have his first solo exhibition in los angeles with induction gallery in august 2026.
