jacob barri

Jacob Barri (b. 2001, Orange County, CA) received his BFA with an emphasis in photography from Otis College of Art & Design. Barri lives and works in Los Angeles. He is a fine art photographer and printmaker. In addition to his studio practice, the artist also works as a curator for Dotted Line LA.

Barri’s work is driven by ideas tied to homoeroticism, queer histories, how authenticity emerges through performance, and how capitalism has made queer culture more famous than any queer person. Through installation, found imagery, traditional photography, and alternative printing processes, Barri investigates these concepts. Though positioned as the photographer, the artist acknowledges how subjects, either himself or others, actively shape the work through their own contributions of gesture, costume, or presence.

Barri’s work has been included in exhibitions such as “UNSORRY” (2025) at Dorado 806 Projects, “Queer Heritage” at 18th St. Arts, “LA Futurism” (2025) at ArtBug Gallery, “Rob Pruitt’s Frieze Flea Market”(2026) with James Fuentes, and several others.
