ari salka
Ari Salka (b. Seattle, WA, 1993) is a Los Angeles–based artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and poetry. He received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2016) and an MFA in Painting from UCLA (2019). In 2015, he was awarded the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship at the Yale Norfolk Summer School of Art.
Salka's work has been exhibited at the Skirball Cultural Center, the Megan Mulrooney Gallery, Ruscha & Co, BozoMag, Lauren Powell Projects, Maison Lune, and Euclid Gallery. He has lectured as a visiting artist at UCLA, Chapman University, and Bennington College.
His work is held in the permanent collections of the John M. Flaxman Library, the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA), the UCLA Arts Library, and the ROSA KWIR Archive in Mosta, Malta. His artist book is distributed through MOCA Bookstore.
